There is a story behind every song. Have you ever wondered what inspired some of your favorites? On Nov. 17, a well-known name in Christian music will weave together story and song in an intimate concert setting at Lancaster Bible College.
Junction Center Productions and 48Live Productions/The Concert Spot will present “An Evening at the Story House with Matthew West and Special Guest Katy Nichole” for a 7 p.m. show at Lancaster Bible College’s Good Shepherd Chapel.
For this intimate night of music, the five-time Grammy Award nominee will share the inspiration behind songs like “Grace Wins,” “Hello, My Name Is,” “Strong Enough” and more.
West is also a multiple ASCAP Christian Music Songwriter/Artist of the Year winner and a 2018 Dove Award Songwriter of the Year (Artist) recipient. He has received an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, a K-LOVE Fan Award and named Billboard’s Hot Christian Songwriter of the Year.
In addition to his own recording career, he has more than 130 songwriting credits to his name, including cuts by Rascal Flatts, Scotty McCreery, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Mandisa, Danny Gokey and others, along with back-to-back No. 1 songs by Casting Crowns.
Adding author to his list of accolades, West has written five books to date: “Give This Christmas Away,” “The Story of Your Life,” “Forgiveness,” “Today Is Day One” and his latest, “Hello, My Name Is.” He is also passionate about providing hope and healing through the power of prayer and story. West and his father, Pastor Joe West, founded popwe, a non-profit ministry helping others to craft, share, and live a more meaningful life.
After posting the chorus of her song “In Jesus Name (God of Possible)” to TikTok, singer/songwriter and viral sensation Katy Nichole shot to the top of the Christian music charts and recently released her new single, “God Is in This Story,” with Big Daddy Weave.
