LBC Celebrates Grads at Four Ceremonies
LBC | Capital hosted several graduation ceremonies to honor 253 graduates in Lancaster, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Uganda, as they begin or continue careers and ministry work that will impact their communities and beyond. The spring 2023 graduation ceremony marked a special moment for Commencement speaker Dr. Peter W. Teague and the Class of 2023. Members of this year’s undergraduate class, departing after four years of life and learning, first found their home at LBC in August 2019—the start of Dr. Teague’s final semester as college president. Two Special Graduation Traditions
LBC has two graduation traditions with special meaning: a Servant’s Towel and an Alumni Pin. On the night of His betrayal, Jesus washed His disciples’ feet and wiped them with a towel. LBC’s Servant’s Towel represents the ultimate example of servanthood, at LBC’s core since 1933. The alumni pin represents not only the path to graduation but also the journey as graduates join a family of more than 10,000 alumni. READ MORE
Dr. Teague Reflects on ‘Surreal’ Trip to Uganda
“As I ponder our recent 14,454-mile journey across seven times zone to Kampala, Uganda, the only word that even begins to come close is ‘surreal.’ I, along with LBC | Capital President Thomas L. Kiedis and several colleagues celebrated the graduation of 24 pastors who earned their Master of Arts in Contextualized Pastoral Ministry from Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate School in partnership with the Pastors Discipleship Network (PDN) in Uganda, an organization founded by LBC alumnus and former Compassion child Dr. Richmond Wandera (’20). Uganda Graduate Shares Inspiring Testimony
LBC | Capital celebrated with students, teachers, families and friends as 24 graduates earned a Master of Arts in Contextualized Pastoral Ministry on May 27, 2023, as part of a partnership with the Pastors Discipleship Network in Kampala, Uganda. One of these graduates, David Graham Tugume (’23), was the recipient of the Servant Leadership Award, which is presented to a master’s degree graduate “who has evidenced outstanding scholarship, a servant’s heart and leadership skills.” As he received his award, Tugume shared an inspirational testimonial.
