During the Christmas season, there are plenty of opportunities for gift-giving. May we suggest that Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate School, now more than ever, is worth your generosity.
You might ask, “Why would I donate money to a Bible college scholarship fund?” Among many reasons, one answer may surprise you: North Star Initiative.
It all began with Jen (Minoski) Sensenig, a 1993 graduate of LBC. “I would not have been able to attend LBC without the help of scholarships,” said Jen. “They directly impacted my ability to go to college and receive the education that I needed.” It was then, during her college days, that God first planted a seed in her heart – a love for the lost – that would eventually grow into something much bigger. “I studied the Bible and biblical counseling,” she explained. “These studies helped to form and fuel the passion for those who have been marginalized through domestic sex trafficking.”
In 2009, Jen founded North Star Initiative, a non-profit ministry based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, that has literally saved the lives of women lured into sex trafficking. “LBC continues to have an impact on North Star’s future as we partner with students,” she said. “They are able to become interns, volunteers and employees at North Star Initiative, bringing the education and resources they have gained at LBC to further our mission to restore those coming out of domestic sex trafficking.” LBC played a pivotal role in Jen’s ministry with North Star Initiative, through which the community, indeed, the world – is better for it.
That is why donating to our Community Scholarship Fund matters. It is here at LBC that the lives of world-changers are shaped and molded by God. It is here that students specifically set aside time to biblically discern who God is calling them to be and what He wants them to do. God speaks here. He moves. We see it every day.
Would you consider investing in the lives of students like Jen? Our prayer is to raise $250,000 for student scholarships before the close of 2018. Please consider making your year-end tax deductible donation to LBC | Capital by December 31. It could be one of the most meaningful Christmas presents you could give the world. With your help, we can empower, equip and send out the next generation of Christian leaders.
