Small businesses make the world go ’round, as the saying goes. Well, maybe there isn’t actually a saying like that, but we sure do love our local businesses! Check out this (non-exhaustive) list of business in and around Lancaster, Pennsylvania that are owned or founded by alumni, graduates and former students of Lancaster Bible College.
1. Dough & Co.
This local eatery serves up raw, edible cookie dough like ice cream – and it’s amazing. The cafe also offers a milk bar, coffee and ice cream if cookie dough isn’t your thing. Founded by former LBC and OneLife Institute student Taylor Glessner, the shop’s interior is totally Instagram worthy.
2. T.W. Ponessa & Associates Counseling Services
This counseling service was established in 1991 by Lancaster Bible College graduate Thomas Ponessa (’80) and offers psychiatric medical services, school-based services, mental health outpatient services and more.
3. YDOP
This advertising agency based in downtown Lancaster, which stands for “Your Dream, Our Project” specializes in SEO, internet and digital marketing strategy – and it was founded by 1981 graduate Steve Wolegmuth.
4. TheFarmhouseFinds
This wildly popular Etsy shop, manned by education alumnus Garrett Derr (’13) offers up custom-made farmhouse table and decor. One of Derr’s creations even made it into AMC’s show, Deitland (see this Instagram post for proof).
5. Tacks Truck & Trailer
Headed up by Matthew Tack (’14), a graduate of the college’s accelerated undergraduate program, this business renovates vehicles and turns them into food trucks. You can read more about Tacks’ business and his love of LBC’s Bible degree program by clicking here.
6. Solidwerks Jewlery
Justina (Mylin ’17) Godfrey is graduate of our business administration program and creates beautiful handmade and minimalist jewelry. She sells her wares on Esty and the designs are truly gorgeous.
7. Olivia Rae Photography
Wedding photographer Olivia (Shaffer ’13) Craft has turned a side hustle into a thriving business. Check out some of her truly stunning work here.
8. Lickity Split
This cute cafe and ice cream shop in New Holland, PA is owned by Gina (Black ’91) Dissinger. They also have an ice cream truck that you may have spotted around town!
