Shirley Herr, RN, MSN is a current Registered Nurse who provides nursing education in various healthcare facilities in the Lancaster area, including the Rehab Hospital, diverse skilled long-term care facilities, and the family clinic setting. In the past, she worked in Labor and Delivery, Psychiatric/Behavioral Healthcare, and Community Health Nursing.
In addition to working as a Registered Nurse, Shirley has also served in medical missions in Costa Rica, Honduras, Dominican Republic, and recently in the Appalachia mountains in Tennessee. She has also served in varied homeless and youth ministries in Philadelphia, New York City, and recently in Houston, Texas. One of her service highlights was tenderly caring for newborns in foster care with her husband in their home. Recently, she has served as a Board Member for a local, Christian pregnancy center in Gap, PA which reaches out to clients and families with unplanned pregnancies with the love of Jesus.
Current health care challenges in the United States and around the world clearly necessitate creative solutions. Shirley is deeply passionate about educating HCM students at LBC to manage the diverse health care needs with the integrity and sacrificial example of Jesus Christ!
