Dr. Briggs has served as Professor of Sport Management in the College of Business & Entrepreneurship at North Greenville University for the past 21 years including roles as Department Chair of Sport Management, Program Coordinator of Physical Education, and Dean of the College of Wellness & Sport Professions. He earned a PhD in Sport Administration from The Florida State University in 1999 and within the Sport Profession has published over 150 articles, instructional manuals, and research materials as well as professionally presented over 120 occasions in no less than 10 different countries.
Dr. Briggs remains active in the Sport Profession coordinating students, graduates, and the general population to support operations/activities of local/regional sport organizations. He personally enjoys working with the administration of several college and local non-profit sport agencies including much work with the local Metro YMCAs, the Marion Moorhead Golf Classic, and serving over 10 years in the pressbox of NGU Football as statistician and scoreboard operator.
Remaining involved in the marketplace of life and the Business Sector is important to him; Dr. Briggs has either owned or shared ownership of several sport businesses including wellness centers (Healthworks and Transitions of Southern Wellness Associates), and businesses operating in the Bowling Industry. Out of a love for business operations and finance he has served as CFO for College Park Church since 2016 where his family has attended since 2014.
In his spare time, he loves to garden as a local grower and has developed a fruit orchard where he and his family sell produce to the local community. He has a lovely wife of 18 years and three children residing in Travelers Rest, SC. Most importantly, his desires to grow and mature in the Lord drive him to his biblical studies while seeking the Lord for everyday direction in he and his families life.
