Why Earn an MEd in Health & Physical Education Through Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate School?

This online MEd in Health & Physical Education program is designed to equip graduate students with sound pedagogy that reflects a biblical worldview so they can improve their skills and build knowledge to work in both public and private educational settings in health, physical education.

The MEd program offers students the flexibility of directing their educational goals:

  • MEd with no PA certification
  • MEd with PA Instructional certification

The Master of Education in Health & Physical Education program offers students with a bachelor’s degree the opportunity to further develop as a professional in their field. The program is designed to fulfill the professional competencies of the Pennsylvania Department of Education regarding Health & Physical Education programs that meet Pennsylvania state requirements and the National Society of Health and Physical Education (SHAPE). Coursework is offered in an online format that incorporates research in health, physical education and sport, as well as field placement opportunities within the student’s community.

Course Length

8 weeks, a few courses are 16 weeks

There is no residency requirement. To help build community, students have the opportunity to participate in a weekly 30- to 60-minute Zoom session with their professor and fellow students.

Capstone Requirement

A research thesis for Health & Physical Education

Transfer Agreement

Transfer in up to 9 graduate level credits with a grade of B or higher.

Health & Physical Edu with PA Certification (56 credits) is designed for candidates holding a current Instructional Level I certification who want to obtain an MEd in Health & Physical Education or the candidate who works in the field of recreation and sport desiring a master’s degree in Health & Physical Education.
